Our school trip to Porchester Castle

Porchester Castle Trip – Morestead and Marwell Class

Morestead Class and Marwell Class enjoyed a memorable and enriching visit to Porchester Castle. From the moment we arrived, the children were welcomed by a team of enthusiastic tour guides, each dressed as queens, knights, and castle servants. Their lively storytelling brought the past to life, helping the children understand what daily life was like within the castle walls and how the castle was defended during times of battle.

The children then had the exciting opportunity to step into history themselves. They dressed up as kings, queens, and knights, fully immersing themselves in the roles and gaining a deeper appreciation of medieval life.

Throughout the day, we explored the castle grounds, examined the ancient remains, and ventured into the impressive Keep. The spiral staircases tested our energy, but the effort was rewarded with spectacular views across the surrounding landscape. The visit offered a wonderful blend of learning, adventure, and hands‑on experience, and the children represented the school brilliantly.

It was a fantastic day that sparked curiosity, encouraged historical thinking, and created lasting memories for everyone involved.
