Owslebury Primary School

The small Winchester Primary School making a BIG impact!

School Council

Come and meet the members of our school council!

Current Project

We are currently discussing which projects to focus on this year as all members have brought their ideas along to our first meeting!

We have invited the children across the school to take part in a competition to design our new suggestion boxes before we hand them out to each class.

These are used every week for children to write or draw their ideas and suggestions for us to discuss in meetings every Monday.

This term we organised a competition to find the best design for our new suggestion boxes. These are boxes in each class where the children can put notes of their ideas for us to discuss at school council as part on our meeting each Monday.

We chose designs from two winners and have started to paint them this week.

2024-2025 projects

Golden Table

After a request in one of our suggestion boxes we have started a Golden Table award each week. Children will be selected by their teacher for having good manners and they can sit at our Golden Table with a friend of their choice for lunch.

Suggestions boxes

This week we have been making suggestions boxes for each class. We have asked the children in each class to write their suggestions for us to discuss each Monday.

Children in Need

School Council raised £192.64 for Children in Need by organising a bake sale and an obstacle course. Thank you for all your support!

School Council Updates

October 2024

  • We had our first school council weekly meeting on Monday lunchtime and discussed how we could introduce ourselves and our roles to the rest of the school.

  • We planned an assembly and shared any improvements we wanted to make at Owslebury school.

  • Finally, we shared the vision that we want Owslebury to be a "fun, happy and healthy school".
