This term, pupils have been enjoying an exciting topic all about Africa. As part of our learning, we have been reading the wonderful book Meerkat Mail, which has helped us explore different places, animals, and habitats across the continent. The children have learned to name and locate the seven continents on world maps and globes, developing their geographical skills and understanding of the world around them. We have also explored the climate of Africa, comparing hot and dry desert regions with tropical rainforest areas, and discussing how climate affects people, animals, and the environment. In addition, pupils have learned about the importance of Fairtrade and how buying Fairtrade products can help support farmers and communities around the world. Through art, discussion, map work, and creative activities, the children have shown great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the topic.
