Our Learning

This term we have been learning about people who help us. We spoke about people in the community and real-life heroes. We also discussed the differences between superheros and real-life heroes.

In addition to this, we have been finding out about where we live and the name and location of our capital city London.

We used Google Earth to locate our homes and compare the areas where we live to London inner city. 

Following the children's interests we then spent the last two weeks with a topic 'Toys'. 

They thoroughly enjoyed bringing in their favourite toy from home to share with the class as part of a speaking and listening activity. They then wrote about why these toys were special to them before comparing toys they play with today to those their parents or grandparents might have played with. 

In phonics we have started learning the Phase 3 digraphs in our daily sessions. The children have worked incredibly hard to name and form these in their writing and we are really impressed with their progress.
