Autumn 1 - Fearsome Vikings
Viking Hook Day
The children enjoyed an exciting Viking-themed Hook Day, packed with creativity and discovery. The morning began with exploring runes and learning how the Vikings used them to tell stories. Afterwards, the children designed their own Viking jewellery using cardboard and wool before moving into maths, where they applied their skills by shading fractions on a Viking shield.
After break, the focus shifted to Viking weaponry. The children researched different types of weapons and created a fact file on their favourite. The afternoon was filled with creativity as they designed and painted their very own Viking shields, bringing together everything they had learnt throughout the day.
Overall, the children had a wonderful day.
