We still have places available for Year R in September 2024. If you would like to visit the school please contact the school office to arrange an appointment. All late applications for Year R must still be made via Hampshire Admissions.

In the meantime, please also have a look at our video tour where you can see our school in action.

Owslebury Primary School is a hidden gem.

High up in the South Downs National Park and only a 10-minute drive from Winchester, Owslebury combines all the benefits of a small rural village school with academic achievements.

The large playground and field, with beautiful views over Winchester, offer plenty of space for sports and outdoor activities. But for many families it is the school’s small size which makes it such a special place for children to learn and grow.

With only 93 pupils, everyone in the school knows everyone else. Staff are able to give remarkable individual attention to each pupil’s needs – whether that means stretching gifted and talented youngsters or supporting and integrating those with special educational needs. Every child is genuinely valued within a tight-knit community.

An impressive 100% of pupils met or exceeded the expected standard in reading and mathematics at the end of Key Stage 2. That included ranking second in Hampshire for the proportion of pupils reaching the higher standard for reading, writing and arithmetic in SATS.

Thanks to the work of our dedicated, talented and passionate staff we currently have a ‘good’ Ofsted rating, and are on the road map to achieving ‘outstanding’.

Owslebury welcomes new joiners after reception year, and they integrate very quickly. Colden Common is a five-minute drive away, Fair Oak and Winchester are around 10 minutes away, and we have many pupils from further afield.

We are always happy to welcome prospective families for a visit.

At Owslebury we recognise the unique potential of every individual. By understanding and
empowering each other, we are building strong foundations for successful lives.

We believe that the privilege of being a small school, in such a beautiful rural village community, provides huge opportunities for children’s learning to be enhanced and personalised.
