Autumn 1 Ourselves and Fairytales

October
This week our topic was Pumpkins in Marwell Class. We shared the story of Pumpkin Soup and then explored the inside and outside of pumpkins scooping out the pulp and seeds. We hammered golf tees into the outer skin developing our fine motor skills and made our own pumpkin soup cutting up the pumpkin and helping to prepare the other ingredients.
September
This half term our topic is Ourselves and Fairytales.
We have been busy getting to know each other and our new environment.
As a class we have shared stories about how we are all different and taken part in circle times discussing our likes and dislikes.
We have also shared many traditional fairytales, acted them out and retold them in our own words.
To develop our fine motor skills we have started 'Dough Disco' where we mould play dough into different shapes along to music.
