Baybridge Museum Tour Guide

Open for one day only, our Baybridge Museum was packed with visitors all afternoon. Our fantastic tour guides were able to share their expert knowledge all about Ancient Egypt and beyond. We enjoyed sharing stories and hope the souvenir book was useful.

Happy Half Term Baybridge, you have worked incredibly hard and deserve a rest.

Canopic Jars- Art

We have worked hard to design, make and decorate our own canopic jars inspired by the Ancient Egyptians. We have included heads of gods on the lid of each jar as well as heiroglyphics for decoration. These will be displayed in our museum.

Ancient Egyptian Hook Day

We have had a fantastic start to 2023 where we travelled back in time to Ancient Egypt.

During our hook day we completed an escape room to open up the long, lost tomb of a forgotten pharaoh.

After break we challenged ourselves to build a pyramid using just spaghetti, blu-tac and marshmallows. We applied our learning about structures to make them stable.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed some Egyptian dancing and food tasting. The children tried flat breads, dates, figs, honey and falafel as these contained the spices and chickpeas found in Egyptian food. The children enjoyed the honey and falafel most.

We ended our day learning about Canopic jars- ask us what the Egyptians kept in them and why!

Baybridge had a fantastic day and learned so much to start off our new topic.

Thank you families for providing such great costumes!
