Autumn 2 - Superhero or Villain?
Hook Day
Morestead kicked off this half term with a super Superhero day! It was wonderful to see all of the children coming into school dressed up as their favourite superhero and we even had a few villains make an appearance!
When we first arrived at school we encountered a problem - Monkey had gone missing! To our surprise, we found him hanging from the ceiling! Throughout the day we worked hard to problem-solve, coming up with lots of different ways we could potentially save the monkey and rescue him from the ceiling. In the end, it was Super-Isabella who saved the day!
We did some fantastic writing about who we had come to school dressed up as. We thought carefully about what we wore, what equipment we used, who our side-kick was and who our arch-enemy was!
Later in the day, we made some superhero art where we were flying through the sky! We used watercolour paints to create a magical background, then stuck down images of buildings and ourselves in our best superhero poses flying through the sky to save the day. We were all very excited to have our Art work displayed in the classroom. We also designed our own superhero badges/shields and played some great superhero themed games.
What a brilliant start to our new topic!
